June

I am just getting worse at writing on time. No more comitments for me. I can't beleive it's already June. This year is already half gone. Crazy how time flies.

Kenzie graduated 8th grade last night. She was so pretty. I am so proud of her. As a parent it is the most rewarding thing to see your childs accomplishments. She got 3 awards for her grades. She is a little nervous for hight school but I think she's ready. She is getting all set to head to Washington DC in a couple of weeks. I think she is already packed. I am a little bit nervous that she will be so far away from me. It will be a great experience for her though. She can't wait. She will e going to her Dad's for a couple weeks when she gets back from DC. After that she starts high school volleyball. She is just growing up so fast.

Tannon started guitar lessons last week. He loves it. He thinks he is going to be a rock star. Which works great for me. I told him to make lots of money for his Mommy. He is however turning into someone that I don't know. He has developed a 9 year old attitude that is getting him into trouble on a daily basis. What do you know, he is his Father's child. LOL.

JJ and I are still getting things done around our house for my Sisters wedding. We are almost done. We have a couple of camping trips lined up but other than that not much planned. I am needed some sunshine though.

Well thats it for now, maybe it will be less than a month before the next one!

Update

Wow, I have really slacked off. I am just not good at this updated on time thing. Anyway, the Joyner house is just as busy and hectic as always even though there is no sports right now.

McKenzie is still a typical teenager. Some days she is the funnest most beautiful girl and the world and the next day I think the devil truly took over her body. Her conferences went great. I am so proud of her for working so hard and pushing herself. She has big dreams and I can only hope that she full fills each one. She passed hunters safety so she is hunting for the first time this year. We went turkey hunting the other day but didn't see anything. Secretly I have to admit that it scares the crap out of me to see her with a gun. She is just growing up so fast. She did however learn a valuable lesson about a Mother's need to protect their young. After not seeing any turkeys we decided to let the kids target shoot. We had borrowed a gun from a friend to see if it would be a good fit for the kids. Kezie got right up there and pulled the gun. The Mom in me took over and told her to back up from the scope and make sure that she had the gun in her shoulder. I could see what was coming from a mile away. She on the other hand proceeded to tell me how she already knew everything and I was just making her nervous. JJ told me to just let him take over. Which at first I was a little angry but understood. She lined right up and fired and boom. That gun came back and whacked her right in the face. She had a nice big goose egg on her head. I know it's bad, but it was a proud Mom moment. I tried to get some pictures but they didn't turn out. Needless to say, lesson learned.

Tannon is always just relaxed and light hearted. However, he is becoming quite the little smart alec. He gets up the other morning and says to me "You know, when I get in high school I think that I am going to start sleeping naked". I turned around and looked at him and said "WHAT". He just started laughing and said that he just said that to see the look on my face. The little brat. He thinks he is so funny. The highlight of his days are watching River Monsters and playing army. His conference was great. He came up two reading levels this year so that was hard work paid off. It's not that he can't read, it's that it takes too much time out of his busy day. He wants to do what he wants when he wants. Don't we all.

JJ and I are great. We have been working around our house for my Sister's wedding. Well, JJ has been doing most of the outside work. I am so looking forward to getting some warmer weather and planting flowers. The wedding details are panning out and everything is on track. Between wedding, turkey hunting, bear hunting and the kids we will be busy.

Ok, so as far as me, I'll admit it, even though I don't want to, I became obsessed with the Royal Wedding. I know, I know, pathetic hu. But I just could not help it. I was not interested until the day before and I became so fascinated with it. In my best efforts to hold off, I recorded it and when I got up on Friday, I was hooked. I watched it before I left for work. Watched it on the computer, watched it again when I got home, then watched documentaries on it for the rest of the weekend. I could not help it. It was mesmerizing. She was absolutely beautiful. I have never been one of those girls who wanted the fairy tail wedding and I still don't. But there was something so romantic about it. So there you have it, I am crazy like everyone else.

Week 10 March 7-13

Congratulations CCMS wrestling team! For those of you who don't know, they took 1st place at state for the second year in a row. So proud of them. Kenzie takes stats for the team and left on Friday for Woodburn. She got home Saturday night at around midnight. The team was escorted into town by the police dept and all of the parents honking and waiving through town. Too bad it wasn't during the day but it was really cool to see. Kenzie was so excited to be a part of it.

Saturday JJ and I went to the sportsman show. We found all kinds of things that if we had money we would love to have. But, we settled for some spices from the Garlic place. Love their stuff.

Kenzie had her last volleyball game on Sunday. She played great. Her team was undefeated up to the last game. They really had to play as a team and work for it. In the end, Kenzie served the last 5 serves and they won the championship. They were all crying and got t-shirts. So proud of her for all of the things that she works so hard to accomplish.

Week 9 Feb 28 - March 6

Wow, I can't believe it's March already. Soon I will be 32. Yikes. I have to say it really does not bother me too much right now. I think this is actually one of the best times in my life. My kids are old enough to take care of themselves but they still need me, I have a job, good husband, GREAT friends and lots to be thankful for.

What happened last week. Well, lets start with our drive home form the coast on Monday. So did not want to leave. I wish we would have taken a whole week. It was so nice and relaxing to just get away and not have plans. The kids were great and we got some adult time at the casino. Ahhh, the casino. That place is just mean. I put money in....nothing comes out. So I love the wheel of fortune game and it just took all of my money. Damn you Vanna. John Wayne was good to me for a while and then he sole my money like a bank robber. I just kept pushing that button though waiting for the big John Wayne Bonus. Bonus', thats another killer. I just keep playing because I want to hit it big on the bonus. Let me tell ya, it's all worth it when you spend ten dollars to get a dollar bonus. Oh yeah. I am in the money now. Needless to say, I won't be able to persue my gambling career right now. Back to Monday, the drive home was pretty hairy. The roads were nasty. I made JJ drive. I was too scared. I know, chicken. But let's face it, I don't have the best driving record. We did make it home safe and sound.

Tuesday through Friday was really just back to the real world. Nothing great to report. Saturday I had to work a few hours. Let's just say I am glad I have Monday through Friday but it was so quiet. That part was kind of nice. Went to my Mom's for dinner and Cheyenne and Jason were there with Stratton. That little guy is so cute. He is full of fire. Sunday Kenzie had a volleyball game. She played great. Her team took third and they were disappointed but they really did a good job. So proud of her and her hard work.

So that's it, another boring Joyner week! :-)

Week 8 - February 21-27

Well nothing grand to report for last week. The kids did not have school on Monday and Tuesday and Tannon was sick on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we left for the coast. It was so good to get out of town. When we got settled in the house we rented we went to the casino for the seefood buffet. We dropped the kids off at the house and went back to the casino for a parents night out. None of us won anything but we had a good time. We got home around 2:30. Yikes. Three of the four kids were still awake. Christy and I got up the next morning for our spa day. Let me tell you, it was wonderful. It felt so good to just be pampered and relax for a while. After the spa the boys called us and they had taken the kids clamming. So Christy and I in flip flops and sweats headed to the bay to see how they were doing. They had gotten a few of them. However, I went to sit in the car after just a couple of minutes because me newly pedicured feet were numb. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out at the house. We watched movies and just relaxed. Sunday we took the girls shopping. That evening we were having a seafood boil for dinner. OMG it was so good. Minus the nosey neighbor who was a total jerk about us cooking the boil outside. Like if it was inside it would not smell up the house. Crazy old crochity man with nothing to do. We came home on Monday. I can't seem to get my mind on working today. I am just wishing I was still at the spa.

Week 7 Feb 14-20

I can't believe that we are almost through with February. Time goes by so fast. Especially the older we get.

JJ took me to dinner at my favorite place on valentine's day. He took me to Barney Prines. I ate way too much and gave myself a tummy ache but it was so good. We only eat there a couple of times a year and it is so worth it.

Tuesday I found out my lille sister is getting married. I am really happy for her. Plus I really like Beau so that is good. She is really excited. Apparantly I am the planner. She asked if she could have it at our house this summer. Yikes. Of course, she can. So we have a lot of work to do for sure.

Friday I got a laptop. So excited. I have dealt with my old crappy computer for way too long. It took forever to do anything. Half the stuff I could not do anyway because it was so slow. Love the new laptop though. It's so fast. I have not been getting anything done at home because I have been playing with it. Hehe. Anyway I am sure the new will wear off soon but in the mean time it has been fun.

Saturday Kenzie had a volleyball game. Her team started the day off horrible. They were not working together and they were making a ton of mistakes. Toward the end of the day though they were playing great. Kenzie did a great job. She had some perfect spikes! After the game I went to Mom's and relaxed in the hot tub.

Sunday I had plans to get some things done at home but JJ came home from coyote hunting and asked if I wanted to go see a move. That NEVER happens so I took him up on the offer. We went to go see True Grit. Good movie. Then we took Nana to dinner. She is so crazy, we take her to dinner and she can have anything she wants and she orders a grilled cheese. Oh well I guess. I have decided that I just can't take this body anymore. I ordered medifast from my friend Christy. I am actully pretty excited. I can't wait to get dressed in the morning and actually look in the mirror instead of try to stay as far away from it as possible.

That's all for this week. Unfortunetly my life is not really excited. So for those of you who read this, I am sorry I can't make it more interesting. Maybe I can start making things up for you. I will work on that.

Week 6 Feb 7-13

I got a call from my good friend Mandy on Monday and went to dinner with her and her daughter. It was so nice to catch up. That little on is the cutest thing. She reminds me so much of Kenzie when she was little. She is full of vinager. So cute.

Wednesday I had jury duty. Lukily we all shared the same opinion on the case and it was over in one day. I have to say I kind of like Jury Duty. I think that just makes me a nosy person but I like it. I can't believe the things that some people do. It is kind of scary. Not to mention the court setting. I could never be a defense attorny. It would just be too hard to have to defend people you know did it.

Friday Tannon was sick. I on the other hand got a ton of stuff done at home. He was grounded so he could not watch TV so he had to stay in his room all day and read and sleep. That was enough to make him want to get better for sure.

Saturday I did my Sister's taxes. My other sister came over as well and I made dinner for all of us. Then we all went to Mom's to sit in the hot tub. I am not sure she was ready for all of us to be there but we all went anyway.

Tannon and I cleaned his room out on Sunday. Oh my, I think I may be raising a horder. It was discusting. I had 3 bags of garbage and 4 bags of stuff that he was giving away. And I have not even gone through his clothes yet. Yikes. Oh well, it's all clean now. I don't think that room had been vaccumed for months. Kenzie was sick and stayed in bed all day. Poor girl.
